The accompanying picture shows a batch of hose reel baskets prepared for the Citadel superstructure.
Construction is from wood and plasticard to make the basket, with the reel being turned from aluminium.
The construction is the author's interpretation of a Naval hose reel.
The midship RAS points.
These are entirely built from scrap materials plus some turnings produced in aluminium on the lathe.
The picture shows these ready for an initial coat of filler primer.
Here we see a start being made on the fitting out of the Citadel superstructure.
The starboard side is featured: the picture shows the RAS point, along with other fittings - ladders, lights, loudspeakers, vent grills etc..
The picture shows the starboard side life rafts and platforms: this is a dry fit to check for size, prior to paint and final installation.
The starboard side complete and ready for paint.
A new addfition to the workshop is the Proxxon drill stand and X Y table - adding these components to the FBS240 drill already in use makes a complete machining centre.
This combination has a lot to offer the model maker, making precision co-ordinate drilling and milling simple. This makes production of components much easier.
A slight diversion away from the Citadel build was the fitting of tha anchor chains and locking sets; this completes the bow section.
This picture shows the lower half of the starboard side complete and in paint.
The next picture shows a start being made on the port side fitting out.
This was a much quicker build as most of the components had already been completed and required only fitting to superstructure.
Here we see the rear of the Citadel, fitted out and ready for paint.
This picture shows both halves of the back wall, complete and in paint.
Next we make a start on the upper half of the Citadel superstructure.
This picture shows the port side with some fittings in place, ready for paint.
This picture shows the bridge assembly fitted to the Citadel superstructure.
A view of the completed bridge assembly; components now being fitted to the roof of the bridge include the 1007 radar assembly and radome.
Interesting equipments. I will let my father know about them after my https://www.goldenbustours.com/seattle-tour-packages/
