A brief decription of each presentation

Leicestershire's part in Breaking the Unbreakable. The story of Beaumanor Hall at Woodhouse Eaves Leicestershire, and the part played by the "Y" service during WW2. This is a power point presentation along with vintage items from WW2. Normal run time 1.5 hours.

 

Telescopes, the Amateur Approach. A look at the Amateur Astronomer and his tools, some brief history of Amateur Astronomers and what is now available to the back garden Amateur. A power point presentation with various pieces of equipment for demonstration. Normal run time 1.5 hours.

 

A day in the Life. The speaker once ran a Rally Recovery Unit, this presentation recalls a complete day's Car Rallying in the Welsh Forests showing how a rally operates and the work of the emergency units on a Car Rally. This is a slide show at present with a run time of 1.5 hours aprox. 

 

Mr Marconi's Magic Box. A look back at the start of Radio communication from 1896 to the 1960's a non-technicial presentation on Power Point and with practical items of interest to view. Normal run time 1.5 hours.

 

HMS Glamorgan; the ship, the model and Operation Corporate. A power Point presentation looking at the ship, the Destroyers of the County Class, the model and Operation Corporate. The speaker will bring with him a prize winning model of HMS Glamorgan and other items of interest. Normal run time 1.5 hours.

 

It's all over in a Flash! An in-depth look at Lightning and Thunderstorms, including a comprehensive look at the European Lightning Detection Network of which the author is a member. Power point presentation, run time 1.5 hours.

Hi John, just a quick one to say that finally on the 5th April, ( ordered on the 11 feb) the semi kit GMD arrived. Now the fun begins!!???
