Cabin exterior final fit-out

The picture shows the underside of the cabin and installation of the cab floor and dash board, which were shown being prepared in an earlier picture.

Difficult to see, but a shot of the interior complete - dashboard and seats.

Making a start on the front of the cabin; windows fitted and also the front capstan winches.

The cabin front, complete.

Cockpit control panels, sprayed and highlighted; without indepth pictures of a real fit-out the colours are left to the the individul's taste!

Cockpit control panels installed; the monitor display was drawn up using an application on the PC and reduced in size to suit on the printer.

Cockpit complete; also, the completed cabin door installed.

This picture show the windscreen frame being assembled from the etched brass sheet. Soldering was found to be the best way of joining the componets; after painting, the glazing was installed and the assembly fitted to the cabin roof.

Cabin rear view showing progress to date.

Making a start of the safety rails for the flying bridge; it should be noted that these differ from the drawing on the plan, as these do not represent the actual fit on the boat. The builder is advised to consult pictures of the actual boat being modelled.

Railings in place and flying bridge is now complete.

Building up the guard rails to the pump box; there are various options for installing these. The author chose to have the upright stanchions soldered to the guard rail but not attached to the deck: i.e this assembly lifts off when the cabin is removed.

Starboard side of Cabin complete, including transfers; extreme care should be exercised when fitting transfers as there are a one-time only fit!!

The cabin complete with all fittings installed on the hull.
